Discover the rich history of the township of Rawdon, brought to life through official documents, personal letters, and oral stories passed down from families. Our website is a gateway into the lives, struggles, and triumphs of Rawdon’s early settlers.
For over 40 years, our research has explored Rawdon’s past, tracing our family histories and uncovering stories that shaped this unique township. From its founding through its formative years, Rawdon History captures the essence of community spirit and resilience.
After a long, frustrating and difficult absence, Rawdon History is back on line, at the moment a work in progress but with many new postings. Considering many early settlers coming to Rawdon emigrated from Ireland, details and sketches written in 1805 describing their homeland will be shared .
The administration of Rawdon is preparing to feature the Irish culture in Rawdon in March 2025. In support of this initiative I am dedicating a section of RawdonHistory.com to tell the story of the various counties these early settlers left. I have original texts written in 1805 on the counties of Ireland. If you would like to see where your family emigrated from featured on this site contact me and I will make every effort to share the story of your family's county.
